Speech & Language Services
Evaluations:
Evaluations take place in order to determine an individual's strengths and weaknesses in the areas of speech, language, oral-motor, and/or social skills. Once an evaluation has been conducted, a written report will be provided with the results and recommendations for treatment.
Articulation:
Articulation therapy involves working on the placement of articulators (lips, tongue) inside of a childs’ mouth to correctly produce their sounds.
Language:
Language disorders can include both expressive and receptive challenges. Some common Language therapy targets include:
Listening comprehension: How your child is able to comprehend what is being said to them and follow a variety of directions.
Grammar Skills: Your child’s ability to use grammatical markers to form complete sentences.
Vocabulary Skills: The ability to understand common and new words in order to be able to communicate effectively.
Question Skills: Your child’s ability to answer and ask questions with a variety of structures.
Literacy/Book Skills: Your child’s ability to read and write or use pre-reading skills such as book handling, recognizing print, etc.
Social Skills:
